Join Sara Hakkarainen for a peaceful walk through the forests of Tampere, Finland, as she shoots Kodak Portra 400 on one of the most beloved cameras ever made — the Canon AE-1. Released in 1976, the AE-1 was one of the first cameras to feature microprocessor-controlled exposure, making it a true game-changer for accessible 35mm photography.
Mounted on it is the Canon FD 55mm f/1.2 S.S.C. Aspherical, a rare and legendary lens known for its incredible sharpness, dreamy bokeh, and unique character wide open. It’s a piece of glass that still stands out today — both for its build quality and the unmistakable rendering it gives to film.
After the walk, Sara returns to the studio to share her camera scanning process in Adobe Lightroom Classic. She demonstrates how to achieve clean, natural colour without third-party plug-ins like Negative Lab Pro, offering great insight for anyone scanning and editing their own negatives.
