For baseline we also add iPhone 8 and iPhone 12 to the mix, using their telephoto lens. Some useful information about the samples:
When using the telephoto lenses on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 12, the focal length is approximately 50 mm (full-frame equivalent).
The Panasonic G7 and the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K use Micro Four Thirds sensors, so you need to multiply the lens focal length by 2× to get the full-frame equivalent.
The Canon 250D has an APS-C sensor, which requires a 1.6× multiplier to determine the full-frame equivalent focal length.
The 250D delivers a noticeably soft image in Full HD, lacking fine detail. When shooting in 4K, it introduces an additional 1.7× crop on top of the 1.6× APS-C crop, resulting in a total crop of about 2.7×. This means you need significantly more distance between the subject and the camera.
No color grading was applied to the test footage, allowing clear comparison through the ColorChecker chart. The Blackmagic camera recorded in BRAW; the footage was converted to Extended Video and color-matched using the ColorChecker chart. You can use this as a reference for comparing color and exposure across the other cameras.
