Fujifilm X100s in 2025: The Freeing Camera

I bought the Fujifilm X100s brand new in 2013. Twelve years later, it’s still here – while 20+ other cameras have come and gone.

The X100s is supposed to be a freeing camera. Fixed lens, compact, simple. No decisions, no overthinking. Just shoot.

But the autofocus is bankrupt. The battery life is a joke. The Lightroom workflow defies logic. And “grab-and-go” requires more infrastructure than a small military operation.

So is it actually freeing? Yes. Once you stop thinking about why it’s freeing.
Shot in Takamatsu and Ritsurin Garden.

GEAR USED:
Fujifilm X100s (obviously)
Nikon Z6 (for filming)
