But wait, because this is not just “we put in a big battery and that’s it.” Microsoft literally created an XBOX MODE within Windows 11 that shuts down everything unnecessary (goodbye Copilot, goodbye search indexing) so your games can breathe freely. The screen? 7 inches, Full HD, 120Hz with VRR because screen jerks are PROHIBITED in 2025. The processor? Ryzen Z2 Extreme which is 15% more powerful and more efficient than its predecessor. RAM? 24GB, because sharing memory between video and system is NO LONGER a problem. But what’s REALLY interesting is Xbox Mode. Imagine Windows but without all the junk that normally runs in the background. A clean interface, designed for controls, that starts directly to playing without going through the traditional desktop. It’s as if Microsoft finally understood that for portable gaming you need LESS Windows, not more. And unlike the Steam Deck (with all due respect), here you are NOT tied to a single store. Steam, Epic, Game Pass, you name it, everything works without compatibility issues or weird configurations. Total freedom. The ergonomics deserve special mention. Yes, the design is “polarizing” (read: not the prettiest), but after playing Grid Legends for HOURS without getting up, your hands thank you. The 715g are perfectly distributed and the Xbox-style controls feel premium. In short: Microsoft and Asus created what portable gaming needed for a long time.
